Nicolas Belfrage: Deep, opaque, with deep ruby edge. Clean but a little understated on the nose. Plum/prune comes through, morello cherry, too. Concentrated, quite muscular wine, with a cafe/dark chocolate kick at the back. Acidity firm, the wine tight-knit, and with the possibility of longish aging. Drink from 2018. 88
Bruno Besa: Deep black core to thin garnet rim. Broad and mature nose, a touch jammy yet clean. Ripe, spicy, mature palate, with good tannic structure. Well made yet overripe. Time will tell, yet I suspect that this is not for long cellaring. 87
Andrew Jefford: Dense black-red in color. Tight-sewn plum fruits with dry earth and roasted herbs: a sense of hidden energy in the glass before you sip. Sweet charcoal, even. Bustling, plump, richly textured wine with considerable sensual appeal. Evidently very ripe, with lower acidities and more ample tannins than many, but there is no lack of dry gravitas, either. Delicious knife-and-fork Brunello with an easy decade ahead. 89
