BUY THE WINE

Alison Buchanan: Tawny amber in color, this has a much darker, brooding feel on the nose, a mineral precision within a medley of macerated dried fruit. The palate is lithe, with a not wholly likeable earthy intrigue. Retasted later, the earthiness was still very present. 13.5

Jesús Barquín: Amber. The nose is young and slightly alcoholic, with a stale note reminiscent of grapeseed oil. The palate is also slightly hot and not very sweet. It does not perform like a pure PX, and in any case it lacks harmony. 12

Julian Jeffs: Color slightly on the light side. Clean but not striking varietal nose. Very sweet but essentially simple. 11
