Simon Field: Warm amber coloring, rich expressive nose. Figs and luxuriant hints of crème brûlée and indulgence. Palate is broad, with walnuts, dried fruits and firm acidity, revitalizing and forthright. An expressive, harmonious style, to partner fish soup or preprandial fare. 17

Richard Mayson: Pale mid-amber. Very attractive savory aromas, well-roasted almonds, quite well defined. Fine toasted flavors, nutty, clean, with good texture, any richness offset by crisp acidity. Very characteristic Sercial. 17

Margaret Rand: Slight note of vomit on the old-style Madeira nose. Palate clean, pungent, linear, very long. Classic, but lacks complexity and fascination. 14
