Simon Field: Big color. Cumbersome, slightly agricultural nose, a touch of rancio. Buttery notes evident in the mouth, a slab of flavor. It has potential but at the moment is rather awkward. 15.5

Richard Mayson: Mid-mahogany. Open, high-toned, but with cheesy undertones. Slightly soupy in its lack of definition. Soft, smooth, and silky initially, with savory-sweet richness and fine acidity. A lovely wine to drink, let down by the nose. 16

Margaret Rand: A sleek, nutty nose and a sleek palate of nuts with a touch of Marmite. Good, concentrated, dense wine with an air of polish. Smoky fruit and a dense core. Very long and powerful finish. 17
