Simon Field: Extraordinary atypical golden color: nose of syrup and, dare one say, fig. Lyon’s treacle perhaps. Palate does not let up on idiosyncrasy, molasses and lime marmalade to the fore. Unusual this; and enjoyable up to a point. 14.5
Richard Mayson: Pale amber. Not terribly expressive, with a savory quality. Much more expressive on the palate, with a fine, clean Cognac-like quality and the sweetness of dried apricots. Unusual young Bual, fresh and well defined. 15.5
Margaret Rand: Nose slightly salty and fishy, faintly reminiscent of Islay malt whisky. Elegant, off-dry palate, nutty, pungent, lovely balance, complete, good depth and complexity. A well-made wine. 17
