BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Rich, youthful color. Smoky, rich, concentrated, lots of flavor, touch of VA, sweet oak, nice balance and elegance and finesse. Fine-grained tannins, subtle oak usage, quite high in alcohol, touch of prune. Slightly dry finish. Intermediate. 15

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry, almost opaque. A well-made modern wine (well extracted, new oak) from good-quality, slightly overripe, grapes, but restrained right now. There is remarkable harmony of the different components, but the somewhat aggressive tannins need polishing, and the wine is still backward. Modern. 15

Marcel Orford-Williams: Modern tasting, ripe, rich fruit. Still young. Short on charm, however. 14
