Tim Atkin | Rich, inky color. Lots of concentration on the nose, but harmonious at the same time. Smart, scented oak, dark berry, bramble and sweet spice flavors. Excellent structure and wood integration, plus the density and balance to age further in bottle. Impressive modern-style Rioja. Long and complex. | 94

Simon Field | Raven-black; a Ribeira backdrop, lovely generous nose of damson, black cherry, chocolate and camphor. Sui generis. Behind that, violets, plums and butterscotch, all elegant and nothing overweening or overwhelming. Fantastically light on its feet, as great Tempranillo should be, even in youth. Pedigree writ large here, and still with much more to give. | 94

Andrew Jefford | Dark, deep and dense black-red. Warm, sweet and soft-focus, with an earthy, savory cast (though clean): attractive if modestly dimensioned. Sound wealth of fruit, poise, freshness and structure: an attractively fashioned wine with lots to give, even if the fruit core isn’t quite adequate to lift it up into the 90s. | 89
