Tim Atkin: Red/purple. Very youthful color. Still a baby. Lots of tannin, lots of color, lots of oak. Still youthful, but very well balanced, with a long life ahead of it. Black fruits, some licorice, firm finish. A little too extracted? Modern. 12

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry. Evident use of oak, modern. The best thing is the earthiness of the tannins and the background of black fruit and menthol at the end. Tempranillo, technically well made in a Spanish style, but not necessarily typical of Rioja. Modern. 14

Marcel Orford-Williams: Deep color. Drying out. Second bottle is much better. Still dry and rather common. Probably new-style. 11
