Alison Buchanan: Limpid yellow gold with subtly green lights. Rather wet woolly nose, vaguely mineral and a little dull. Some flashes of green but herbaceous and rather bitter, shrill, rather than fruit related. Stern and rather austere with hints at background richness and honey – but only hints. Finish is long and very mineral. Crushed stones give focus but where is the fruit? 13.5

Alex Hunt: This shows quite impressive ripeness and density on the nose, with a Chenin–like peachiness alongside the typical grassy/flinty notes. Fairly concentrated, with very bright acidity; fluid and charming.16.5

Andrew Jefford: Full yellow–gold. Intricate, soft scents of greenery and plant sap; subtle, appealing, unaggressive. Sense of a plant world rather than simple grassiness. Fine aromas here. Concentrated and dense; tightly woven; relatively high acidity but good substance and mass. Edge–ripe; long, sappy finish. Definitive Sancerre of real class, though the slight rawness of the vintage itself is evident in the finish. 16.5
