Tim Atkin: Very deep, dense, opaque color. Touch of burned rubber, smoky, rich, darkish tannins, but very good structure and fleshy, broad, nicely textured fruit. Firm tannins, but there’s enough fruit here for balance. Needs time. Cassis and mint, with a little bit of dryness that should soften in bottle. 16.5
Gerard Basset: Medium-deep red ruby. Pronounced nose. Hint of leather; very ripe black fruit. Foursquare, ripe tannin, spices, and black fruit; long finish. 16.5
Anthony Rose: Good deep color, distinctively perfumed, good dark-fruit flavors, concentration and richness; on the very ripe side, though not sweet as such, because there’s good fresh acidity here, good intensity of flavor, very supple tannins, and classic balance. Very well-made red; lots going for it. 17
