Bruno Besa: Bright garnet to pink. Complex, intense, elegant, and earthy, with a mature red-fruit nose and hints of petrol and crushed stones. Medium to full body, with big tannins, sweet fruit, and a long if slightly one-dimensional finish. 91
Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear, translucent. Sweet and warm, with very nearly a smoky touch over rich plum fruits. Another forthcoming and extrovert La Morra aroma. Ample, sound, full, fresh, and long, with some cranberry mingled with the plum and the sloe. A soft, gauzy curtain of tannins. A totally satisfying and drinkable Barolo without anything forbidding about it just now ... but which will age well over the mid-term. So drinkable you might overlook its innate class ... but it’s there. 90
Michael Palij: Exceptionally bright aromas of red cherry, black cherry, Victoria plum, red currant, and some oaky notes of vanilla, clove, and wood smoke. Richly fruity, bright and modern, this has much to enjoy but the tannins dominate proceedings on the finish. A lovely wine but just marginally out of balance. 93
