Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Intense, fruit-driven, red-cherry and aromatic herb nose, with violets, roses, crushed stones, and fresh mint. Medium body, balanced, clean, and mineral. A touch lean on the finish. 91

Andrew Jefford: Dark, deep red, just into the translucent stage. Big, ripe, juicy, calving fruits, with a balsam edge. Generous rather than sublime but generosity is always welcome. Marzipan, too. Well-constituted here and no shortage of wealth to the wine, which is generous and ample, structured and deep. Super fruits. Maybe bottle time will bring a little more aromatic finesse? But plenty to enjoy while you wait. 88

Michael Palij: Surprisingly dark color and developed, obvious nose, with stewed black fruit including blackberry and plum. There are overripe notes of fig and prune, with vanilla and baking spice from oak. On the palate, this is a little top-heavy, with warming alcohol and a surfeit of tannins. 89
