Andrew Jefford | Very dark black-red here; among the very darkest of its vintage, commune peers. Not quite opaque, but not far off. Sweet, warm hay and unlit Virginia tobacco: pretty and uncomplicated aromas. Pure and round, with both fruity and vegetal (tobacco) notes. There isn’t much tannic mass or depth, though this attractive second- wine effort has a soft, insinuating style with good wealth for the vintage. Not a wine to keep, but you’ll find ample uncomplicated drinking pleasure in the short term. | 88
