BUY THE WINE

Simon Field | Green-gold, extract glistening at the meniscus; the nose is reticent, a little “cardboardy.” There is a hollow sensation in the middle, beyond the banana groves and the freshly cut pineapple, the fork in the road, Kierkegaard in a glass, opens up to disappointment... | 87

Andrew Jefford | Unctuously butter-yellow in appearance: a deal of color already suggests great richness. Sweet and candied, though less layered and multidimensional than some of its peers (and than the color suggested). More time needed, perhaps. Cotton candy... But we’d like a little more. On the palate, it is adequately sweet and mouth-filling, with an attractive lemon- tart richness and useful balancing acidity. This ticks all the boxes, but does not have the focus, concentration, density, purity, and unction of the very best. | 88
