Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, correct. A very “vinous” nose, which carries through on to the palate. A wine drinker’s wine: good acid-fruit balance, typical aromas, very nicely balanced, with good length. Drink 2014+. 16
Andrew Jefford: Clear but deep garnet red throughout. Lots of mulberry and ripe redcurrant, but a little tanky in style. On the palate, there is plenty in this wine (the tannins are huge), but stylistically it is a little misconceived and lacks freshness, lift, and purity. Coffee aromas and flavors emerge after a little time in the glass. I could enjoy drinking it, but it doesn’t seduce. 14
Franco Ziliani: Ruby bright color; typically Nebbiolo. Medium intensity, clear, elegant, fresh, with some floral notes, red cherries, raspberries, licorice, black pepper, with youthful freshness and good length, medium structure. The wine improves on your palate when you drink it. Ripe tannins, good balance, ready to drink now, good acidity. I’m not sure it will be better over the long term. 16
