Jesús Barquín: Less deep in color. Spicy nose of pink peppercorn; smoky background. Well-structured but delicate mouthfeel. Very long and spicy finish. 15

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth, with reflections. Fresh and dried fruit on nose, with herbs. Creamy consistency, warm dried-fruit flavors; enjoyable to drink now but should last. 15

Andrew Jefford: Relatively lightly colored, even for a 2006, though that need not be significant. An Easy Rider kind of Amarone: open, savory, and sweet; fully accessible, yet with its cultural uniqueness intact. On the palate, it is a little more concentrated than I expected, with the same uncomplicated, open frankness that the palate exhibited. Sweet dry cherries and plums and strawberries; soft, ample, supporting tannins; no acidity to speak of; open, ripe, ready, good fun. 15
