BUY THE WINE

Essi Avellan | Shiny lemon-green color. Lots of character on the evolving nose. Some charred bonfire tones over sweet seductive fruitiness. Tropical fruit, lemon peel, and green apple. Super-silky texture on the mellow, mineral, and fresh palate of fine creamy mousse. Impressive already, with further potential. | 96

Simon Field | Pale, limpid, a shimmer with softness at the rim, but maybe iron in its heart? Let’s see... The nose is controlled, reduction ceding to the hearthside, apricot kernels, and hints of mandarin and cinnamon. The palate redoubles the inclination toward elegance, the road ahead sure to be scenic. A fascinating wine, its poetry far from iambic. | 94

Anthony Rose | Pale gold, this has a yeasty and farm-buttery nose, quite savory/umami-like; Bramley there, and there’s plenty of ripe Cox’s apple-like fruitiness in a bouncy fresh mousse of bubbles that are crisp, tangy, and dry, with a phenolic grip that brings a refreshing note to the finish. | 95
