Simon Field | Deep, near fluorescent purple; bright in a resplendent youth. Attractive aromatic of stewed tea, raspberry, and crushed rock. The tannins are chalky, softly spoken behind the velvety salutation; balance is thus achieved, potential assured. A kiss of acidity runs down the binding. The finish is more than satisfactory; ditto the future. | 89
Andrew Jefford | Saturated, dense black-red. Earthy, savory wild-plum fruits, with a very faintly reductive edge. Vigorous, quite acidic, deep-fruited, with lots more wild-plum (damson and sloe) character. Soft tannins and some finishing warmth. | 86
Anthony Rose | Deep, vivid, youthful purple in color, this smells fresh and vivid, with a gentle spicy oak undertone. The fruit is dark, deep, primary, rich, and almost fizzing with vibrancy, the tannins supple and the oak well integrated. A powerful red for sure, underpinned by an almost tangy, mineral freshness that will need a year plus to start to show whether its obvious potential will be fully realized. | 95
