Andrew Jefford | Bright pale gold. Fresh, clean, lively, and pungent, with apple and apple-skin fragrance; some spring bulb, too. (We have seen a lot of this in this tasting and the Reinhardt tasting, and it is surely yeast-derived—but a note of monotony, which those wines that exhibit it would be better without. It was also common in Australian Chardonnay at one time and may be so still.) Dry, structured, and long, with firm, driving acidity: lots more apple and apple-skin on the palate. Incisive food Riesling, with concentration and drama, though a rather austere style. | 90
Anthony Rose | Pale lime-green. Floral, zesty, and youthfully fresh in aroma. This is an elegantly youthful dry Riesling, with floral notes and spritzy freshness on the tongue, continuing through to an energetic fruitiness underpinned by citrus, zest, and salty dry notes that add up to a mouthwateringly young whole that, if not quite yet greater than the sum of its parts, promises to be so a year or so down the track, when the elements have combined. | 94
