BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | fine example of a second wine that’s made withatotally different blend from the grand vin (Merlot dominates). Notes of violets, but also spicy notes and hints of tobacco, meaty, fairly long, guaranteed success on restaurant circuit. | 16

Michael Schuster | Fresh, moderately concentrated wine, delicately tannic and of medium depth only, but with a ripe-fruited flavor and some length to both palate and finish. Neither big nor strong, but this will be an attractive lesser claret in a few years. 2017–25. | 15.5
