Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in appearance, though no longer opaque. Sweet and warm, fresh, too, with classic gravelly-earthy tones. Cherry-redcurrant fruits. The most attractive elements of this Graves wine are its tannins and its gravelly- earthy notes, its general sense of savoriness. The fruit core, though, is relatively slender and can’t really match the bright intensity delivered, for example, by its Dourthe sibling La Garde up in Pessac-Léognan. Nonetheless, this is a very worthy 87-point wine that would drink very well with food (as so often from the underrated Graves). | 87
Michael Schuster | Faintly herbaceous, gently pebbly nose; light wine with very little tannin; simple red fruit claret, pleasing in its crisper style, but with not much to it. Drink while fresh. Now to 2025. | 84
