Stephen Brook | Ripe and vivid on the nose, with cherry and blackberry fruit. Rich and fleshy, this has fine weight of fruit and a positive tannic grip, giving an assertive style that’s a touch rigid now but has concentration and vigor. It has the Brunello ruggedness but not to excess, and the fruit comes through vigorously on the finish. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Deep, dark black-red to garnet at the meniscus. Lots of ripeness here, and a tarry warmth: the summer sun beating down on the road that leads through the woods—almost truffley, finally. Charcoal in a clearing in the forest—you sense ample ripeness. Sweet, lush, ample, extravagant: ripe, baked fruits, with plenty of base-wine pull. Ample dimensions and depths to this gratifying, almost baroque Brunello. Lots to enjoy here, though classicists may feel it is a little on the ripe side. Never mind, never mind! Superb fruit. | 93
Michael Palij | Weedy and lean, with baked fruit dominating the palate. The fruit is stewed and obvious, and on the palate there is little to distinguish this, withatannic cloak dominating the palate. This is short and simple. | 84
