Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-red in color; still opaque. Ample fresh, sweet fruits, with raspberry and raspberry leaf as well as blackcurrant: very toothsome and appealing, though less classically “St-Estèphe” than its peers; there is almost a Right-Bank charm here. Ringingly fruity on the palate, too, though just a little simple somehow... or it seems so at present, so direct is its appeal (the tannins are barely palpable and most of the structuring energy is coming from what is admittedly beautifully ripe acidity). Perhaps age will reveal hidden complexities. | 89
Michael Schuster | Very ripe in blackcurrant fruit to smell; medium-full, fresh, finely tannic; a fairly firm texture, framing a ripe fruit of moderate complexity and length. Very St-Estèphe, good, but will need a bit of time. 2024–32+. | 89
