Andrew Jefford | Dark, opaque black-red. Very attractive scents of sweet fruits: black cherry and plum as well as the classic blackcurrant. Swish and fresh in style, carried off in great grace and panache; there’s a milky fullness behind. In the mouth, the wine is poised, full, lively, and graceful, packed with blackcurrant fruits which have as much in common with the St-Julien style as they do with the Pauillac. The ripeness has just got there but this is picked (so it seems) on the very cusp, and there is almost a grapefruit note inside the blackcurrants. Finely embroidered nonetheless, and brimming with class. | 92
Michael Schuster | Softly aromatic Merlot and gravel nose; rich, fleshy, middleweight claret with a relatively long-term tannic frame; sweet and juicy at its heart, long and subtle to taste and long to finish. Really lovely Réserve, which will need, and reward, extended cellaring. 2030–45+. | 92
