Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red with both purple and black toward the rim. Friendly, relatively broad aromas: warm, a touch brandied, ripe, with an attractive vegetal note, too, and some spices. Welcoming if less aromatically cossetted than some. That is very much what you get on the palate: a very fair expression of this rather low-lying terroir in a vintage where ripeness was not as easily assured as of late. Lovely drinking wine for before too long, but not a collector’s piece in this vintage. | 88
Michael Schuster | Subtle, discreet, fairly closed, ripe blackcurrant and subtly earthy nose; medium-full, fresh in acidity, very fine in tannin; sweetly ripe, long, refined, graceful, and complex wine, aromatic, prolonged, very Margaux in its finesse and fragrance, currently a bit oak-dry in texture, but with lovely, delicate fruit length and considerable scope overall. Lovely second growth Margaux. Perhaps a touch too much new oak? For now anyway. Needs a bit of time. 2026–44+. | 93
