BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Dark, saturated black-red; scarlet rim. Ample black fruits (blackcurrant and bramble) but in slightly dry style, with evident oak. Deep and vibrantly acid, with lots of early season blackcurrant singing out of this, so in a way a contrast to the aromas; some firm tannins. Concentrated and driving, if just a touch austere and dry-squeezed. Within the first decade, though, this will make poised, energetic, and exciting drinking. | 87

Michael Schuster | Sweet and oaky to smell; very full, fresh, finely and firmly tannic; sweet, ripe, powerful, tasty, an abundance of fruit, moderate complexity, fine length. Good wine, fairly strong flavor, rich food required. 2023–33+. | 90
