Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red with a scarlet rim. Plenty of agreeably baked plummy fruits: warm, rich, full, though little of the electric freshness of 2016 which you find elsewhere. Nice to sniff nonetheless. Waxy, incense-like tones, too. Lush and full on the palate, but just a little baked, without the diagnostic freshness of 2016. The finish is rather sinewy and linear. | 85

Michael Schuster | Closed, but sweetly aromatic to smell; full, moderately concentrated, finely but firmly tannic; a slightly chewy texture framing a sweet, fresh flavor of a gentle complexity and with good fruit persistence. Still a bit marked by its fruit and wood tannins, so needs a few years. 2026–36+. | 89
