Michael Schuster | A concentrated, pure blackcurrant and mineral nose; this is a rich, fleshy, full-bodied wine firm in both acidity and tannin; deep in gravel-aroma’d blackcurrant Cabernet flavor, long, rich, complex, and mouthcoating, all within a characteristically long-term, firmly tannic frame, and with fine fresh fruit and aroma length. Great, long-term, muscular Léoville Barton, which will certainly impress early on, as it already does now, but which you will probably want to put away for a couple of decades before it begins to yield and really show its paces and shine. 2037–55+.
