Michael Schuster | Dense ripe Cabernet and subtle Médoc- mineral to smell; rich, concentrated, vigorous and firmly tannic, a fine, long-term constitution; deep, sappy, freshly blackcurrant-cored wine, close-grained and complex, subtly minerally, long across the palate, a St-Julien of both substance and finesse, quite powerful but without any excess, and long and minerally to finish. An ample, complete, densely packed, almost muscular St-Pierre, which will need, and reward, plenty of time. A most complete expression of the terroir and clearly one of the best wines of recent years. 2034–50+.
