Michael Schuster | Lovely nose of freshly ripe fruit, fragrant and persistent; a very nicely balanced, rich middleweight wine, fresh, and finely tannic; a beautifully poised flavor, with an abundance of pure, fresh, sweetly ripe fruit, transparent and refined, long to taste, mouthcoatingly fragrant all the while, graceful and very persistent in both delicate fruit and fragrance. Lovely wine. Just marred, for me, by the dry-textured new-wood presence... as most of Johnathan Maltus’s wines are to some extent. A cellar palate? A consultant palate? Not my palate, anyway! Wines for me to admire, and others to drink. 2032–55+.
