Michael Schuster | Dense to smell, crisply ripe black fruit, new-oak-tinged; full and rich and fresh and finely tannic; sweetly ripe in flavor, very long to taste, with an almost-transparent purity, a lovely poise and class, typically marked a touch by its wood- dry tannin, and with a very fine, fruit-scented aftertaste. As always, for my particular palate, let’s hope it absorbs the oak to reveal its singular core beauty. A notably fine Clos l’Eglise. As with many 2019s, probably one of their best ever wines? 2029–45+.
