Simon Field | Green-gold color, almost surreal in its miasma of luminescence. The nose and palate are more subdued, the intensity less marked, broader and more elegiac; a landscape viewed from afar with a long lens, characteristic brine and sour lime evidenced but in less of a stark granitic profile, far from petrified by the rigors of reputation. | 85
Andrew Jefford | Pale to mid-straw gold. Slightly more aromatically reticent than the other Arbois wines: principally a delicate nuttiness of scent and a sesame hint, too. With the general breadiness of the style, it reminds me of the scent in a Greek bakery. Quietly attractive and more sweet-toned than many of its peers, but sweet-toned in a glowingly adult, unsugary way. On the palate, it is pure, fine, subtly allusive (bread, chamomile, cream, yeast extract), with very finely drawn fruit flavors (apple, lemon, tamarind); almost piercing, indeed. Unflamboyant but still very good Vin Jaune. | 93
Roy Richards | Back to deep gold. More obviously oxidative, brass polish. Simple attack, Amontillado Sherry, and then a lingering finish. | 85
