Bruno Besa | Deep ruby to pink. Ripe, clean nose, with a red- and black-fruit character, morello cherries, smoked red meat, and complex earthy undertones. Mature, clean, slightly hot palate, with complex minerality and a clean finish. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red; just off opaque. Slightly strange aromas, lacking fruit and wealth of resonance, though sweet and faintly medicinal; not unattractive but not classical, just yet at any rate. Very deep and dense, so certainly an ambitious wine; very fresh, too, with lots of supported acidity, life and liveliness; it has the concentration, depth, and density to age well. Serious tannins! Everything adds up, in other words, yet I still find that medicinal, apothecary character a little disconcerting. | 90
Anthony Rose | Good, rich, youthful ruby; attractive nose, notes of lead-pencil oak, but not excessive; lots of sweet, dark-cherry fruit on the palate, supported by lashings of vanilla and spicy oak; very international in style, with flattering oak behind well-proportioned dark red fruits in a well-judged framework of supporting tannins and fresh acidity. | 90
