Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Dense nose, black cherries and plums. Supple, creamy, concentrated, with firm tannins to back the opulent fruit. Has a lot of weight for Margaux but enough acidity to refresh the palate. A delicious but serious wine, with gravitas, but it’s not heavy handed or flat-footed. Long, spicy finish, with a light savory tone. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Sweet and fresh, with light and attractive citrus notes. Springtime claret. Elegant, fresh, and lively. Acidity is the principal structuring element at present and forever after, but there is plenty of fruited complexity to it, there are no green, unripe notes, it is soft in contour, and the overall effect has plenty of lively charm and dappled complexity. Drink soon, and drink deep. 14.5
Michael Schuster: Nice, ripe fruit to smell on the nose, along with a clear, new wood vanilla; on the palate, a warm, gentle, juicy ripe fruit is rather put in the background by the new oak dryness. Good primary matter pinched by its oak aging. Not sure this will ever really harmonize. 14.5?
