Bruno Besa | Bright straw with golden highlights. Ripe and mature nose, with nuts, yellow fruits, lemon and lime peel. Rich, lively palate, with intense, multilayered citrus fruit. Long and clean. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Pale, bright steel-gold. A touch of butter, but stone, too, and green leaf, and sea air: very complex, and still fresh. Attractive aromas, which have retained their freshness and sweet poise very well. Lively, deep, mouth-filling, sappy, and serious on the palate: an outstanding Verdicchio that has aged very well indeed, though I wouldn’t keep it a lot longer. It has the rounded, fresh charm of the variety and the place but expresses these with more intricacy, density, and drive than its peers. | 91
Michael Palij | The linear and attractive nose shows a broad spectrum of nutty, fruity, and floral character. This is an impressively complex wine on the nose, with both freshness and complexity derived from very concentrated fruit. Given the age, the risk of oxidation is high, but this shows a beautiful purity of fruit that is impossible to resist, and there are no signs of worrying development. The acidity and alcohol provide a perfect counterpoint to the fruit—this is a seriously impressive white and proof of the potential of Verdicchio. | 92
