Neil Beckett | Although the two Vosne premiers crus, Beaumonts and Suchots, are both promising, this grand cru, from Echézeaux du Dessus, at the heart of the appellation, above Grands Echézeaux, is a clear step up and fully worthy of its name and status. A beautiful kirsch nose, where experienced and talented technical director Dimitri Bazas also finds hallmark chocolate and mint ("After Eights"), then a close-knit palate of unforced freshness, power, and persistence. Outstanding Echézeaux.| 94
