BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Deep ruby to pink. Intense, complex, mature, black-and-red-fruits nose, with smoke, black tea, road tar, and dried herbs. Medium to full body, with sweet cherry and currant palate. Layered tannins, with a long mature finish. | 94

Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear, bright garnet-red. Warm, generous, articulate, and forthcoming red-fruit aromas, in soft-focused, well-mixed style, but in contrast to some of the other wines there is no mixed ripeness here and no sweet-and-sour notes: the homogeneity of ripeness is encouraging. Just a little tarry. There is good concentration of flavor here, and the ripeness is also excellent: uniform, well-rounded (with both tannin and acidity muted and unforbidding). Not a sublime wine, but a very good one. | 88

Michael Palij | Curious nose, with very ripe, stewed fruit showing a touch of oxidation. Although the color is still a vibrant ruby, the aromas suggest that the development continues apace in this wine. On the palate, the wine is one-dimensional, with a surfeit of fruit and drying, green tannins. | 85
