Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in color, Les Griffons has a fresh-fruited urgency that eludes Les Tourelles in 2015. The gently meaty, blackcurrant fruits are pure Pauillac, and skilled oaking adds a supple sweetness. On the palate, some of the vineyard class is apparent in the wine’s depth, poise, and concentration. It has much more gathered force and concentration than the Tourelles this year. | 89
Michael Schuster | fine, aromatic, gravel-dominated nose; elegantly balanced, fairly full wine, fresh in acidity, finely firm in tannin; a fine, moderately long-term Pauillac, currently tannic, quite flavory, complex, and aromatic, with a nice length of flavor, which will be rewarding in the medium term, but which really needs time to soften, mellow, gain in bouquet; leave for five years, and it should then be very attractive. 2025–35+. | 89
