Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red in color. Sweet in scent, though the sweetness is derived from the grapes and their skins rather than winery interventions; and very fresh in style, too, though once again that freshness is a function of the constitution of the grapes rather than anything leafy: a refined and fragrant Pontet-Canet. On the palate, this is soft, long, and very pure, with admirable clarity and focus. The tannins, too, are a little more substantial than elsewhere, although also very soft in style, and the prominent acidity is fruit- drenched as well as being brightly sculpted; you’ll find raspberry alongside the blackcurrant. This is an admirable effort for the vintage. | 93
Michael Schuster | A fine, persistent, discreet nose of ripe fruit and minerals; rich, juicy, fairly full-bodied wine, finely firm in tannin; juicily ripe in fruit, long in flavor, firmly defined, plenty of matter, a nice tenacity of flavor and complexity, and with excellent length. The rain notwithstanding, this is first rate. Ideally give it another decade. 2028–42+. | 93
