Andrew Jefford | Very dark black-red. Dark, earthy; ample black (notably cherry) fruits in reserved and understated style. Quietly alluring, with plenty of Médocain classicism. This is exactly the wine the nose leads you to expect, and it is an impressive second wine for this vintage: harmonious, poised, and elegant, but with true depth of fruit, no question over ripeness, ample length, smooth tannins, and soft but sustained acidity: 100 percent class. An excellent effort and a better buy in this vintage than some of the leading properties’ second wines from St-Estèphe and Pauillac. Don’t keep it for long, though; best over the next eight years. | 89
Michael Schuster | Light, gently minerally, already mulberry sweet to smell; medium-full, lightly tannic, an easy, flowing, ripe red-fruit flavor of modest scope and light length. Very pretty. Now–2023. | 85
