Stephen Brook | The nose offers a splendid cocktail of peaches, oranges, honey, and barley sugar. Velvety and full-throttled, this is Sauternes at its most sensuous and seductive. It may not be subtle, but the sheer voluptuousness is hard to resist. And yet there is ample underlying acidity to give persistence. But the abiding impression is still one of grandeur and concentration, cut by that ripe citric acidity. Very long. | 95
Andrew Jefford | Bright gold in color. Amply oaked, luxurious, and rich on the nose, with lots of honey and lanolin over the apricot fruit. It’s subtly drawn withal, not obvious or blowsy. In the mouth, this is rich, weighty, earthy, concentrated, and intense, with succulence and power. Also fresh, too, thanks to something almost minty in the aromas rather than any driving acidity. Honeyed and long in the finish. | 93
