Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Extremely rich, solid, intense, firmer and less evolved at this stage in barrel than its premier cru peers. | 97–98
Michael Schuster | Plump and freshly ripe black fruit to smell, with a very fine gravel element; full, fresh, finely but firmly tannic; ripe blackberry fruited, generous, even, very close-grained and fine in texture, long across the palate, linear, tight, focused, with an impression of firm flesh, a most beautifully defined Latour, concentrated and discreet at once, a sense of both depth and delicacy, very long and sweetly, florally persistent. A Latour style that is less broad-shouldered and gravelly gruff than it used to be, more haute couture polished, a consequence of both vineyard practices, the move toward organic viticulture, and winemaking decisions. But the effortless, understated power and gentle grandeur remain. 2034–60+. | 95–97
