Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | An Evangile at its best, with a wine that takes you delicately from the front to the back of the palate, unrolling a satin-like texture unique to this vintage. The finish extends the wine in a magnificent way. | 98
Michael Schuster | Dense, violet-fragrant, subtle, perfumed, floral; rich, full, supple, finely tannic, quite a big wine, but not without finesse; sweetly ripe, ample, fleshy, nice length to taste, powerful, mouthcoating, with its oak a nicely defining characteristic, if a bit dry; rich, easy, flattering, and with very nice persistence. An opulent, showy, heart-on-your-sleeve wine, where what it lacks in absolute finesse, it makes up for in its come-hither immediacy. A touch of warmth and bitterness on the finish, but very much the received image of "rich" Pomerol. A vintage that flatters L’Evangile. Should be attractive early, too. 2026–46. | 92–93+
