BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Open, clean, red-fruits nose, with evident oak, mature, with plums, yellow peaches, and hints of leather. Medium body, with sweet-fruit palate well balanced by the layered tannins. A touch overripe on the finish. | 91

Andrew Jefford | Clear deep black-red. The aromas here are a little too green and holly-like perhaps, though it doesn’t descend to kerosene. Nonetheless, there is a lack of fruited warmth and resonance by comparison with the best of its peers. This is true, too, of the palate, which is clearly one of mixed ripeness. Drinkable, but not among the vintage leaders unless you like those greener notes. | 84

Michael Palij | Very ripe and developed nose, with loads of obvious oak (vanilla, cardamom, clove, iron filings), and fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant, cassis). The palate is disappointingly simple, with a short finish dominated by new-oak tannins. | 82
