Bruno Besa | Pale ruby to tawny. Delicate, floral, red-fruits nose, with hints of cedarwood and rosewater. Medium body, clean red-fruit palate, a touch simple, fragile yet fairly inviting, with a moderate finish. | 89
Stephen Brook | Reticent raspberry nose, inexpressive now. This is fresh and zesty, up front and fruity, with good acidity and supple tannins. It’s a forward and accessible style that doesn’t seem very nuanced or even that concentrated. The finish is simple and somewhat blunt. Nothing wrong with this, but it doesn’t soar. | 86
Andrew Jefford | Light, bright garnet red. Sweet, fresh, and warm scents of great refinement: burnished fruits but just as importantly vellum, mushroom, and leather. Very classically enticing. Poised, fresh, and deftly fruited on the palate, but with a panoply of secondary complexities lurking behind that bright redcurrant fruit: dried meats, root spices, lemon peel. An outstanding Barbaresco of elegance, freshness, ripeness, and aromatic complexity. 2018–23. | 93
