Andrew Jefford | Pale, but there is a faint golden cast to this. The aromas offer a rather simple barley-sugar sweetness in synthetic form. Very sweet but simple, with a lack of fruit architecture to lend the wine nobility and dignity. There is some floral interest, but the essential fruit freshness has slipped away with the summer somewhere. Drinkable, but not a great success. | 83
Anne Krebiechl | Full-on, high-toned peach on the nose hints at Scheurebe’s Riesling heritage. This is followed by appetizing notes of almost candied lemon. The palate has the honeyed, rich, emollient nature of botrytis and provides the exciting thrill of acid juxtaposed with rounded, burgeoning fruit. A lovely, aromatic, and juicy Spätlese, precision-engineered. | 93
Stephan Reinhardt | This is another rather freakish wine. Very sweet, and nicely concentrated, as well as fresh. | 77
