BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage | Medium depth, youthful. Nose clean and fresh but not, as yet, very expressive. Quite a hit of juicy, spicy fruit on the palate, however. Plenty of that sour cherry that characterizes Sangiovese in Montalcino. Needs time to develop aromatics, but good drinking soon. | 91

Bruno Besa | Deep ruby to pink. Intense, clean, crushed stones and small-red-fruits nose, with mature red cherries and hints of tobacco and fresh rosemary. Medium to full body, with sweet red fruits palate and long, clean, inviting finish. Another beautifully crafted Sangiovese showing considerable elegance and drinkability. | 94

Andrew Jefford | Light, clear black-red. Soft yet fresh red fruits, settled and balanced; some shy tea-leaf or oak-copse refinement. Later, though, it grows a little high-toned and varnishy, with some herbaceousness. On the palate, too, we have a wine with some herbaceousness; on the plus side, it has concentration and structure, and the fruit tastes ripe despite the aromatic green tones. | 83
