Nicolas Belfrage: Deepish, heading for opaque, but with a certain brightness. Typical Brunello nose of lanolin and dark cherry. Quite a mouthful, concentrated but with balancing acidity. Forward and drinking soon (from 2016 but with the possibility of aging reasonably well). Pretty good length. 16

Bruno Besa: Garnet to pink, tawny rim. Mature, with some oak and small black fruits, yet complex and elegant with clean, spicy character. Full body with great mid-palate, complex, long, with superb layered fruit and long, refined finish. A classy wine that needs just few more years. 18

Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Lots of cereal-grain warmth; a little bloom of vanilla. Vivid and lively; a sinewy style in comparison to some of the tubbier wines in the tasting; classic, tannin-clad but svelte finish, with notes of soft leather and dry summer underbrush. An attractive wine, and classical, too. 15.5
