BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. A touch closed, complex and refined small black- and red-fruits nose, walnuts, and hints of smoke. Compact, complex small black-fruits palate, with big yet refined tannins, leather, cloves, red-cherry finish. | 95

Stephen Brook | Unusually dark in color, but within the right range for Nebbiolo. The nose is sweet and slightly confected, sophisticated, lightly oaky. Rich and lush on the palate, a modern forward style that’s also concentrated and vigorous. It’s the acidity on the mid-palate that confers typicity, and the finish has drive and considerable tension. Long, robust finish, with chewy but ripe tannins. | 91

Andrew Jefford | Deep red-black. Plenty of red fruit, but a little smoky-ashy in style. A touch of herbaceousness here? These notes are then also palpable on the palate, alas. | 75
