Simon Larkin : Intriguing aromatics of roses and vibrant red fruits. The palate shows good purity and an earthy underlying quality - this is elegant and refined, with some grippy tannins. Once more the emphasis is on elegance rather than volume. There is good persistence and marked acidity. A good, if slightly uninspiring, example. Some patience required - three to four years should suffice. 15.5

Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth. Nose not particularly forthcoming. Some firm tannins on the palate, good acid, but fruit a little pinched, surprisingly for a '97. Drying tannins on the finish, lacks the generosity of the vintage. 14
